Tegos Carnution (House of the Carnutīs)
The Carnutes declare that they will willingly go into danger to protect the greater good, and promise that they will be the first of all to begin the war. They require that a solemn oath be given that they should not be deserted by the rest of the Gauls after the war starts. This oath is given on their military symbols which are brought together, for this is the manner in which their most sacred obligations are bound.

Tegos Carnution, a manifestation of my Hearth and House customs, is a tribute to the Carnutīs “The Horned Ones,”, although not merely an attempt to replicate their historical existence. Instead, it serves as a channel to connect with the collective consciousness of the Carnutīs, drawing inspiration from the tribal essence that resonates through the realms of research and personal insight. Rooted in the Carnutīs’ legacy, Tegos Carnution takes shape as an embodiment of their ethos and values.
Central to this undertaking is the concept of Scaxslos Carnuton, a guiding presence of ancestral memory. It serves as a bridge between the past and the present, allowing the wisdom of the Carnutīs to infuse my modern understandings. Tegos Carnution is not confined within the boundaries of a singular space or realm; its influence extends to the larger Gaulish community, carrying the torch of the Senodruides’ spirit. Embedded within the very essence of Tegos Carnution is the principle of service, transcending the confines of home or realm. This practice embodies the values upheld by the Carnutīs and the Senodruides, reaching far beyond personal domains to contribute to the greater good.
Reflecting on the Carnutīs’ historical context unveils layers of significance. Their territory, Carnuticâ (Carnute region or land), situated at the heart of Gaul, symbolizes more than just a physical location. It represents a hub of trade, connectivity, and diversity. This legacy echoes themes of Hospitality, Friendship, and Understanding.—cornerstones upon which the Carnutīs built their identity.
The Carnutīs’ courage in confronting Imperialist’s dominance reveals traits of Truth, Justice, Freedom, Right Action, Bravery, Courage, Duty, and Honor. Their annual gatherings of Druides and tribespeople within Carnuticâ exemplify values of Education, Community, Council, Arbitration. It’s in this context that we find parallels with the Fanum Voltumnae—a sacred sanctuary for the Etruscans. Just as the Etruscans convened to discuss vital matters at their Fanum, the Carnutīs’ gatherings served as pivotal events to share wisdom and knowledge.
While some aspects of Tegos Carnution are modern interpretations, others are rooted in historical realities. This fusion creates a rich web of understanding, connecting the threads of the past with the context of the present. By engaging with Tegos Carnution, we engage in the ancient practice of Soitos—bringing life to something lost, imparting meaning, and embracing the spirit that stood strong against the tide of imperial forces.
Ultimately, Tegos Carnution is a living tribute—an embodiment of the Carnutīs’ legacy and a testament to their resilience, values, and influence.
Scaxslos Carnuton (Spirit/Phantom/Ghost of the Carnutes), the ethereal essence of the Carnutīs, transcends the boundaries of time and individual roles, encompassing the collective memories and actions that define the tapestry of the Carnutīs. This enigmatic spirit stands as the guardian and embodiment of the myriad identities that constitute the ancestral memerory – from the revered Druid to the industrious Cerdu, the valiant Cingetes, the loud Guuatis, the diligent Farmer, the devoted Wife, the steadfast Husband, the nurturing Mother, the caring Father, and every facet of Carnutī life.
In its essence, Scaxslos Carnuton is a luminous guide, a repository of wisdom, and the keeper of the intricate ways that define the Carnutīs. While it’s a concept that emerges from our modern perspective, it draws sustenance from the timeless values and legacies of our ancestors. This manifestation serves as a bridge between eras, allowing us to access the essence of those who came before us and channel it into our contemporary lives.
This transcendental entity stands as a testament to the dynamic interplay between the past and the present, the tangible and the unseen. It is a source of inspiration that beckons me to explore, learn, and weave a greater narrative and connection to the ancestral wisdom of the Carnutīs. As I offer my devotion to Scaxslos Carnuton, I engage in a reciprocal relationship with the spirit that has ignited my journey into the Gaulish realm. It is through this connection that I find resonance, meaning, and a guiding light in my exploration of Carnutī culture and legacy.
