Notes on Symbolism
- Left hand (invocation): Calls, receives, and opens the way.
- Right hand (declaration): Affirms, seals, and declares what has been set in motion.
- East: Indo-European direction of the divine, the rising sun, and the source of life.
- Turn sunwise: Movement with the cosmos; one turn for balance, three for fullness.
This rite is meant to be simple — no tools are needed, just you and the divine. The invocation is a placeholder; you are encouraged to create your own words from the heart. The ritual uses attested Gaulish actions: the kiss of the hand and the sunwise turn. These gestures can be incorporated into your main rites to set alignment at the beginning or end, or practiced as a standalone daily devotion, either personally or with your household. You may also perform it spontaneously — when passing a shrine, seeing a sacred tree, or wishing to honor the Gods or your ancestors in the moment.
