Hermetic teachings for the Seeker: Chapter 14: The Mystical Union
Night had fallen. Stars dotted the sky, faint whispers of light on the darkness. The mystic’s voice softened.
“The goal,” he said, “is union. Hermes instructs: ‘Return to the Mind, O soul, and dwell in the Light from which you came’ (CH I, Poimandres, I.45–47). Union is recognition, awareness, and lived experience.”
Seeker: “Union… is it feeling, knowledge, or state of being?”
“All three, yet none fully describe it,” said the mystic. “Union is living awareness. The spark fully recognizes itself in the Mind. It is not a one-time achievement; it is continual, present in each moment of attention, reflection, and action.”
The mystic gestured to the night sky. “Each star, though distant, reflects the same Light within you. Union is realized when every act, thought, and perception acknowledges the All. It is subtle, quiet, ongoing.”
Union is the culmination of virtue, contemplation, and recognition of unity. Awareness aligns the spark with divine Mind continuously. Each breath, reflection, and act of attention sustains mystical union.
