The Druid
I am Branos Carnutodrûidion (Raven of the Carnutian Druid), also known as Branos Urādos (The Rooted Raven), or simply Root. I am a Druid, Hermetic mystic, scholar, and priest devoted to the living currents of the sacred in all its forms. My work bridges Paganism, Hermeticism, Alchemy, Stoicism, Gnosticism, and Druidry—weaving these sacred streams together in the pursuit of Awen, the sacred breath, the invisible wind that stirs the soul and awakens the heart. These disciplines serve as my torch, inspiring and guiding others toward their own unfolding paths.
At the heart of my worldview lies a deep commitment to virtue, moral understanding, and ethical cultivation. I believe that right order—within oneself, within community, and within the cosmos—is upheld through the disciplined practice of virtue. I draw especially from the ancient triad:
Honor the Gods
Commit no misdeeds
Fashion virtue within yourself
These principles shape my approach to service, community, and spiritual development, forming the ethical backbone of my path.
I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina with my wife, who often wanders joyfully among the trees, and our daughter, who is usually spinning yarn with whimsical delight. Here, I weave my love of nature into daily life through my work at the Western North Carolina Nature Center. Rooted in nearly twenty years of Druid practice, I continue to study, craft, and walk a life shaped by devotion, contemplation, and service.
I am one of the leading voices within the Gaulish Revival. I serve as Druið of Galatîs Litauiâs, a collective dedicated to spreading Gala, the inner fire of the Galatîs, and bringing together practitioners from many different Galatonta (Gaulish paths) for shared spiritual work.
I am also a founder and Gutuatir (Priest) of Bessus Nouiogalation (“Custom of the New Galatîs”), a contemporary Gaulish tradition dedicated to establishing a stable cultural and religious revival—a New Galatis that draws wisdom from the past while remaining open to insights from many cultures, eras, and places.
As the creator and curator of GaulishPolytheism.com, I maintain a community hub dedicated to education, devotion, and the restoration of Gaulish spirituality. I also maintain GaulishPaganism.com, a sister site designed as an accessible starting point for newcomers wishing to explore Gaulish Paganism and Polytheism.
As an Adept Druid of the Ancient Order of Druids in America (AODA) and a priest within the Gnostic Celtic Church (GCC), I serve as an admin for the AODA Discord server and Facebook community. I am the editor of the AODA Newsletter, and I tend the Hearth & Earth Nemeton in Western North Carolina.
Beyond Gaulish Polytheism, I devote much of my time to helping others discover their own Awen and to cultivating my personal spirituality through the Greenwood Path—a nature-centered mystical framework (feel free to ask me about it).
I am currently completing celebrancy training in funeral ministry—particularly focused on honoring the passing of animal companions—and I continue my ongoing journey toward deeper priesthood. My studies span alchemy, astronomy, philosophy, folk-magic, old world religions, and ritual. Above all, I am devoted to my path and to nurturing the communities I serve. You can most often find me in the woods or at my crafting altar, weaving spirit and skill together in my work.
I am also a contributing author of The Gaulish Tapestry (2025), a collaborative exploration of the modern Gaulish polytheist movement.
You can get to know me much better by reading my work in
The Druid’s Den.
“May the Dêuoi guide all seekers in truth and harmony beneath the sacred sky.”
